    Ingredient Notes

ingredients needed to make pumpkin shaped rice krispie treats
    1. Butter - Try to use salted butter, but if you only have unsalted butter available, then you may use that instead.
    2. Marshmallows - A 10 ounce bag of mini marshmallows is needed to make this recipe. Be sure that you use fresh soft marshmallows as they work the best and help make the treats ultra gooey.
    3. Orange food coloring - This ingredient can usually be found in the aisle at the grocery store with the spices and if you are unable to find orange food coloring then you can also mix together equal parts red and yellow food coloring instead.
    4. Rice krispies cereal - Also known as crispy rice cereal. Use any brand of crispy rice cereal that you prefer.
    5. Rolo candy - To make the stem of our pumpkin, use regular or mini chocolate Rolo candy. You may also use Tootsie Rolls instead.
    6. Green icing - You should be able to find a pre-made tube of green icing in the aisle at th grocery store with the baking goods. This is what will help to give our pumpkins their leaves.

    Instructions

Using a large pot, over medium-low heat, add the butter and stir until it has melted. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they have completely melted.

Add in the orange food coloring and stir until combined.

Carefully remove the pot from the heat and quickly stir in the rice krispies cereal. Continue stirring until the cereal is well coated in the marshmallow mixture. If more food coloring is needed, then feel free to add more at this point.

Wash your hands and spray them with cooking spray. Divide the mixture into six even amounts/sections. Roll each section into a pumpkin-shaped ball. Place into a dish and allow the treat balls to cool completely.
