How to Make Homemade Supreme Pizza
Here's the quick overview. The recipe card below includes the full measurements and detailed instructions.
1. Prepare the Dough and Toppings
Make the homemade pizza crust and let it rise until doubled in size, or prepare store-bought dough according to its instructions.
Cook and drain the Italian sausage and ground beef. Thinly slice the bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms, then preheat the oven to 425°F.

2. Shape and Pre-Bake the Crust
Press the dough into a greased pizza pan, baking sheet, or cast iron skillet. Pre-bake for 4-5 minutes before adding the toppings.
3. Add the Sauce and Toppings
Spread the sauce over the crust and add half of the mozzarella.
Distribute the pepperoni, cooked sausage, cooked beef, bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms evenly. Finish with the remaining cheese.

4. Bake and Serve
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Check the center as well as the edges, then slice and serve warm.
LaKita's Expert Tips
- Cook and drain the meat. Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage before adding them, and drain off excess grease so it doesn't collect on the pizza.
- Spread toppings evenly. Avoid piling the meat and vegetables in the center, where the crust can take longer to bake.
- Shred your cheese. It melts better and tastes fresher than pre-shredded.
- Pre-bake the crust. Helps avoid a soggy bottom.

What Toppings Go on Supreme Pizza?
Supreme pizza combines meat and vegetable toppings with pizza sauce and cheese. My version uses six toppings: pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, green bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms. The beef makes it extra hearty, while the vegetables balance those savory bites. Topping combinations vary, so you can leave out a topping you don't enjoy or add a few sliced black olives.
Can I Use Store-Bought Pizza Dough?
Yes. Prepared dough is a convenient shortcut. Follow its package instructions for thawing, resting, and baking, since different doughs can need different handling.
How Long Does Supreme Pizza Take to Make?
With homemade dough, allow 1 hour and 40 minutes: 20 minutes of prep, 20 minutes of cooking, and 60 minutes for the dough to rest.
Starting with prepared, ready-to-shape dough skips the homemade rise time. Allow extra time if your dough needs to thaw or rest.

Storage and Reheating
Refrigerator
Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freezer
Wrap baked pizza slices tightly and freeze for up to 1 month for best quality. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
Reheating
Reheat in a 300°F oven until hot throughout for a crisper crust. You can also microwave individual slices for a quicker option.
What to Serve With Supreme Pizza
Keep pizza night simple with a fresh salad, something for dipping, or a side to share. Try it with:
- Pear Walnut Blue Cheese Salad
- Lemon Pasta Salad
- Homemade Ranch Dressing for dipping crusts
A simple green salad is always an easy choice when the pizza is loaded with toppings.

Frequently Asked Questions
The names are often used interchangeably for pizzas topped with a mix of meat and vegetables. The exact toppings depend on the restaurant or recipe, so check the ingredient list rather than relying on the name.
Absolutely! Skip the meat and load up on your favorite veggies.
Thinly sliced bell pepper and red onion can go on raw. Slice the mushrooms thinly, too. If your mushrooms are especially juicy, sauté them first to release some moisture, then drain before adding.
