This recipe is perfect for the summer or really anytime.
It's simple ingredients, creamy layers stacked in your favorite dish, and absolutely requires no baking. WINNING!
I was inspired to make it as a spin-off from my chocolate delight recipe and let me tell you, although they are similar, I enjoyed this recipe a little better.
Let's get started
Oreo Delight Ingredients
- Butter - Melt the butter and allow it to cool to room temperature before combining it with the sandwich cookie crumbs to create the bottom layer and crust. Use your favorite butter brand and either salted or unsalted butter can be used.
- Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (Oreo Cookies) - Chocolate sandwich cookies are needed to create the base layer crust. Use regular Oreos and not double stuff or thins.
- Cream Cheese - Use full-fat cream cheese to help form the sweet cream layer. Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature before combining for easier mixing.
- Powdered Sugar - Also known as confectioners sugar is paired with the cream cheese to sweeten the second layer.
- Whipped Topping (Cool Whip) - Added to the cream layer and the top of the dessert. Allow it to thaw from frozen before using. Heavy cream or whipping cream can be used instead, but keep in mind that it will need to be combined with some additional powdered sugar to sweeten it.
- Instant Cookies and Creme Pudding - Make sure it's instant pudding and not the cook and serve dry pudding mix. This is what really creates the thick pudding layer and brings the whole dessert together.
- Milk - Use cold whole milk to combine with the instant pudding to thicken the pudding to a soft set. After refrigerating the Oreo delight the pudding will finish setting and become thicker.

How To Make This Oreo Delight Recipe
Begin the recipe by grabbing a 13x9-inch rectangle baking dish. Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies. Set aside a cup of crushed cookies for the top.
In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter and Oreo cookie crumbs until combined. A food processor helps to create fine crumbs. The mixture may still be clumpy and will loosely stick together.
Pour it into the baking dish and evenly press into the bottom in a single cookie crust layer.
Using a hand mixer with a large bowl, add the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Mix together until creamy and smooth.
Add half of the whipped topping. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
Create the next layer by adding the cream cheese mixture on top of the cookie crust. Spread it out evenly to form a second layer.
Using an electric mixer on medium speed or whisk and a large bowl, mix the instant pudding and cold milk for two minutes until combined and softly set.
Evenly spread the cookies and cream pudding mixture on top of the cream cheese layer to create the third layer.
Lastly evenly spread the remaining whipped topping on top of the pudding layer.
Sprinkle the top layer with the reserved cookie crumbs.
Place the oreo delight dessert into the refrigerator and allow it to chill/set for 2 to 3 hours before slicing to serve. Enjoy!
Tips To Make The Best Oreo Delight
- Mix the instant pudding with cold milk. This will help the pudding to form up quickly and allow it to soft set for easier spreading.
- Use an offset spatula to easily spread the layers evenly.
- Be sure to allow the finished dessert to chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 to 3 hours before serving. If you're in a hurry, place in the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes.

Remove the dessert from the freezer and hold a sharp knife underneath warm water before using it to cut the slices. Clean the knife off between each cut to ensure that everyone has perfectly neat layers.
