Oreo Delight is sweet, creamy, and delicious layers of goodness. This no-bake dessert recipe is the perfect treat for Oreo lovers. Made with a chocolate sandwich cookie crust, a sweet cream cheese layer, plus some cookies and cream instant pudding. It's an easy dessert the whole family is sure to love.

If you're craving more Oreo desserts, then try making some Cookies and Cream Ice Cream or Cookies and Cream Popcorn. For other great recipes with pudding, make a Chocolate Delight or Banana Pudding Recipe.

This recipe is perfect for the summer or really anytime.

It's simple ingredients, creamy layers stacked in your favorite dish, and absolutely requires no baking. WINNING!

I was inspired to make it as a spin-off from my chocolate delight recipe, and let me tell you, although they are similar, I enjoyed this recipe a little better.

Let's get started

Oreo Delight Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make oreo delight in separate bowls and containers on grey surface.
  1. Butter - Melt the butter and allow it to cool to room temperature before combining the butter mixture with the sandwich cookie crumbs to create the bottom layer and crust. Use your favorite butter brand, and either salted or unsalted butter can be used.
  2. Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (Oreo Cookies) - Chocolate sandwich cookies are needed to create the base layer cookie crust. Use regular Oreos and not double stuff or thins.
  3. Cream Cheese - Use full-fat cream cheese to help form the sweet cream layer. Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature before combining for easier mixing.
  4. Powdered Sugar - Also known as confectioners sugar, is paired with the cream cheese to sweeten the second layer.
  5. Whipped Topping (Cool Whip) - Added to the cream layer and the top of the dessert. Allow it to thaw from frozen before using. Heavy cream or whipping cream can be used instead, but keep in mind that it will need to be combined with some additional powdered sugar to sweeten it.
  6. Instant Cookies and Creme Pudding - Make sure it's instant pudding and not the cook and serve dry pudding mix. This is what really creates the thick pudding layer and brings the whole dessert together.
  7. Milk - Use cold whole milk to combine with the instant pudding to thicken the pudding to a soft set. After refrigerating the Oreo delight, the pudding will finish setting and become thicker.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient quantities and instructions.

How To Make This Oreo Delight Recipe

Begin the recipe by grabbing a 13x9-inch rectangle baking dish. Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies. Set aside a cup of crushed cookies for the top.

In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter and Oreo cookie crumbs until combined. A food processor helps to create fine crumbs. The mixture may still be clumpy and will loosely stick together.

Pour it into the baking dish and evenly press into the bottom in a single oreo cookie crust layer.

Using a hand mixer with a large bowl, add the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Mix together until creamy and smooth.

Add half of the whipped topping. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until combined.

Create the next layer by adding the cream cheese mixture on top of the oreo crust. Spread it out evenly to form a second layer.

Using an electric mixer on medium speed or whisk and a large bowl, mix the instant pudding and cold milk for two minutes until combined and softly set.

Tips To Make The Best Oreo Delight

  • Mix the instant pudding with cold milk. This will help the pudding to form up quickly and allow it to soft set for easier spreading.
  • Use an offset spatula to easily spread the layers evenly.
  • Be sure to allow the finished dessert to chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 to 3 hours before serving. If you're in a hurry, place in the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • To cut perfect layers, place the assembled delight in the freezer for about 15 to 20 minutes before serving. Remove the dessert from the freezer and hold a sharp knife underneath warm water before using it to cut the slices. Clean the knife off between each cut to ensure that everyone has perfectly neat layers.

Recipe Variations

  • Chocolate pudding can be used as a substitute if you have problems finding the Oreo Cookies n' Creme pudding.
  • Use golden Oreo cookies or nilla wafers and vanilla instant pudding to make a vanilla delight recipe or golden oreo delight.
  • Instead of using whipped topping, mix whipped cream (heavy cream) with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Storage Tips

Storage: Store any dessert leftovers in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Cover tightly with a double layer of aluminum foil or plastic wrap. This Oreo cookie dessert is best enjoyed a few days after making it for the best results.

Make Ahead: Oreo delight dessert is a great recipe to make a day in advance. Make/Assemble it up to 24 hours before you're ready to serve it. Cover it tightly with a lid or plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve it.

Freezing: This pudding dessert can be stored in the freezer. Just cover it tightly with a lid or a double layer of aluminum foil before placing it in the freezer for up to 1 month. Once you're ready to serve it again, transfer it to the refrigerator and allow it to thaw overnight before serving.
