Are you craving some hibachi-style noodles? Well, I have just the thing for you, plus it can be made in minutes using just a few simple ingredients.

Let's get started!

Why You'll Love Hibachi Noodles

  • Perfect Side Dish - This is a great option if you're craving noodles alone, but try pairing it with some Hibachi Steak and Veggies for a complete meal.
  • Flavorful - It's a simple dish that's loaded with flavor. Garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper make the most delicious sauce to cover the noodles.
  • It's Versatile - This noodle recipe can easily be adjusted to fit your taste and available ingredients. Don't be afraid to use additional ingredients that you prefer. You can also substitute the noodles by using what you have in your kitchen already. Tru substituting with spaghetti, angel hair pasta, or even ramen noodles.

Hibachi Noodle Recipe Ingredients

Overhead view of ingredients needed to make noodles in separate bowls on black tile surface.
  1. Noodles - The base of the recipe, traditionally yakisoba noodles is used to make Japanese noodles. But if you have difficulty locating them at your local grocery store, substitute them with linguine pasta.
  2. Butter - This is an ingredient that is heavily used at hibachi restaurants. It's what makes the food so good in my opinion. You may use any butter that you prefer just make sure that it’s real butter and not margarine. It can be salted or unsalted depending on your preference.
  3. Garlic - Adds an earthly and intense flavor to the noodles. I prefer freshly minced garlic for the best flavor, but jarred garlic or garlic paste/garlic puree can be used instead.
  4. Soy Sauce - Commonly used in hibachi recipes, gives the noodles a savory, slightly salty flavor, and adds rich dark color to the noodles. Tamari could be used as a substitute in the same unit of measure.
  5. Oyster Sauce - Adds an earthly, slightly sweet, and salty flavor to the noodles. Teriyaki sauce could be used instead.
  6. Worcestershire Sauce - Gives the noodles a savory and umami flavor.
  7. Salt and Ground Black Pepper - Provides additional season and flavor to the overall dish. May adjust according to your taste preference.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient quantities and instructions.

How to Make Hibachi Noodles

Prepare the pasta noodles according to the package instructions. Drain off the water and set aside.

Place a large skillet or wok on the stovetop over medium-high heat. Once heated add the butter and allow it to melt and become foamy. Add the garlic and cook until it becomes fragrant.

Reduce the heat to medium. Add the cooked noodles and toss to combine in the butter and garlic.

Cooked noodles combined with all ingredients in cast iron skillet.

Remove from the heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve warm as a main dish or as a side dish with your favorite hibachi proteins. Enjoy!

Recipe Variations

Depending on which hibachi restaurant you go to, this simple noodle recipe may have slightly different combinations. Don't be afraid to change it up and make substitutions to fit your preferences. Here are a few ideas:

  • Sprinkle in some additional seasoning such as onion powder, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper to make it more of your own.
  • For a little more sweet flavor, add some brown sugar to the sauce. Light brown sugar or dark brown sugar can be used.
  • Along with the garlic, also add some freshly minced ginger or ginger paste.
  • Add some toasted sesame seeds or sesame oil on top before serving.

Storage Tips

Storage. If you have any leftover noodles, allow them to cool to room temperature before placing them in an airtight container. Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating. When you’re ready to serve the noodles again reheat them in a hot skillet on the stovetop over medium heat until warm. Add more butter if needed. They can also be heated in the microwave for a quicker option.

Freezing. It is best to enjoy the hibachi noodles shortly after they have been made. I do not recommend freezing them for later.
