Chocolate Cherry Instant Pot Dump Cake


Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake is a rich, decadent, and simple to make recipe in the instant pot. It requires few ingredients and is ready in minutes. Sure to be your new favorite dessert recipe.


– 1 cup water – 21 ounce can cherry pie filling – ¼ teaspoon cherry extract – 1 ¼ cups Devil's Food cake mix – 4 tablespoons butter, melted – chocolate syrup, optional

Begin this recipe by grabbing your instant pot/pressure cooker and place the trivet into the bottom. Add in one cup of water.

Next use a dish or pan that will fit inside the instant pot. Pour the can of cherry pie filling into the bottom of the dish. Add the cherry extract and stir to combine. Spread evenly into the bottom of the dish.

Top with 1 ¼ cups of the devil's food cake mix and gently press it down evenly into the dish on top of the cherry pie filling. Do not use the entire bag of cake mix!

Top with four tablespoons of melted butter and spread evenly on top of the chocolate cake mix.

Place the dish into the instant pot and cover with the lid. Make sure it is set to sealing and not venting. Set the cooking time on manual for 25 minutes.

Step #5

When the time is up, use the quick release by switching the knob to venting. Once the pressure has released immediately remove the lid and carefully remove the chocolate cherry dump cake.
