The temperatures are warming up and it makes me want to spend more time outside and fire up the grill as much as possible. Now when it comes to grilling, I have to admit it is not my area of expertise. However when it comes to burgers just know that I got you.

The great thing about burgers is they are simple to make with the main ingredient being meat/beef of course. Once you have selected the meat that you prefer, next comes an endless opportunity to be as creative with flavors as possible. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a classic burger, but I do like to experiment and come up with as many unique flavor combinations that I can. Today is of course no different as I will be sharing a recipe for a Cling Peach Bourbon Glazed Burger.

Why use cling peaches?

California Cling Peaches are perfect because I keep them stocked in my pantry all year round. They are harvested, packed and shipped at their peak ripeness to ensure one of a kind natural sweetness and flavor. They are great to always have on hand because they have a long shelf life, are affordable and available in cans, jars and single-serve cups. All of this certainly makes them the perfect compliment to many traditional and unique recipes. Plus they are always affordable, always ready, always delicious!

What ingredients are needed to make a burger with a cling peach glaze?

  1. Ground beef - Use any that you prefer, but a 85% or 90% will probably work best.
  2. Ground black pepper
  3. Salt
  4. Paprika
  5. Garlic
  6. California Cling Peaches -  For this particular recipe, you will need a 15 ounce can of sliced cling peaches. Locate them at your local grocery store and check the label to make sure it is USA/California Grown.
  7. Bourbon
  8. Garlic
  9. Brown sugar
  10. Buns
  11. Burger fixings (cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.)

Heat the grill to medium high heat and add the burgers allowing them to cook 5 to 10 minutes on each side until desired doneness is achieved. This step can also be completed in a large cast iron skillet or grill pan on the stovetop over medium high heat as well.

After the burgers have been cooking for 3 to 5 minutes, generously baste each side of the burgers with the cling peach bourbon glaze. Carefully remove the burgers from the heat onto a serving plate, allowing them to rest while preparing the cling peaches.
