  • 12 ounces linguine
  • 12 ounces grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 sprigs basil
  • 4.5 cups water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, grated


  • In a large skillet over high heat, combine that pasta, tomatoes, onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, olive oil, basil, and water. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bring the water to a boil, while stirring and turning the pasta frequently with tongs to cook evenly.
  • Once the pasta is al dente and the water has nearly evaporated, feel free to season with additional salt and pepper before serving.
  • Serve immediately with Parmesan cheese.
