I love pizza and I could eat it each and every day.

I have been making my own pizza at home for years, however, with the extended time at home I have found myself making pizza each week. As I share my pizza creations on social media I realize that yeast is still in limited supply and many are having a hard time getting their hands on any yeast at all.

But don't let the shortage of yeast stop you from making homemade pizza dough. You can make a simple recipe that requires no yeast and creates a thin and crispy pizza crust.

What ingredients are needed to make this super easy pizza dough?

    1. All-purpose flour
    2. Salt
    3. Warm water
    4. Olive oil

How to make no yeast pizza dough:

The recipe begins by combining the all-purpose flour and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Make a well/space in the middle of the flour and carefully pour in the warm water.

Stir the mixture until it begins to come together. Add in the olive oil and stir together with a spoon for a few seconds until the dough comes together and begins to stick to itself.

Turn the sticky dough out onto a clean lightly floured work surface. The soft dough will be wet and very sticky. If it is too sticky to work with, add some additional flour, a small sprinkle at a time.

Begin to knead the dough until you are able to form a smooth ball. This process will take 1 to 2 minutes. Do not overwork the dough it will be soft and a bit sticky. Just make sure the sticky dough no longer comes apart, again it should be soft and smooth. Divide the pizza dough into two even balls for 2 smaller pizzas or leave together for a single medium-size pizza.

Using a rolling pin, roll the pizza dough out into a thin circle shape about ¼ inch thick. Sprinkle a pizza pan with additional flour, cornmeal, or line with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Carefully transfer the dough onto a pan.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. and bake the pizza dough alone for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the pizza dough from the oven and add the sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings. Place bake into the oven and bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.

Tips to make the best yeast free pizza:

    • Do not over knead the dough. Once it forms a soft and smooth ball, then it is ready to use.
    • Try kneading the dough on a piece of parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow for easier cleanup.
    • This pizza dough will form a thin and crispy pizza.
    • Do not use too much sauce on the pizza dough and make your own sauce using the Homemade Pasta Sauce recipe
    • For a thicker crust made with yeast, use the recipe for Homemade Pizza Crust.
