  • Pressure Cooker (Instant Pot)


  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon oil


  • Begin the recipe by adding 1 cup of brown rice and 1 ¼ cups water into the bottom of the instant pot.
  • Add ¼ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon oil, stir all of the ingredients together to combine.
  • Place the top on the instant pot. Making sure the steam release valve is set to sealing and not venting.
  • Cook using the manual setting. Press the Manual button on the instant pot. If your pressure cooker does not have a manual button, then press the Pressure Cook button.
  • Set the cook time for 24 minutes. Allow the instant pot to naturally release for 10 minutes when the time is up. Then quick release to allow any additional steam to come out.
  • Serve warm and store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 5 days.


This recipe yields 4 cups of cooked brown rice.
