Quick and Easy Oatmeal Bars
Quick and Easy Oatmeal Bars are a simple but delicious snack that anyone can make. Sweet, chewy, and loaded with oatmeal. The perfect quick snack.
- 2 cups quick-cooking oats
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ¼ cup corn syrup
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl, combine quick oats and brown sugar.
Stir in the melted butter and corn syrup and press into a 9-inch square microwave-safe dish.
Place in the microwave uncovered and allow it to bake for 1 minute and then rotate a half turn and microwave for an additional 1 minute longer.
Carefully remove the pan from the microwave and sprinkle the top with chocolate chips, spreading them out evenly, and place back into the microwave and allow it to bake for an additional 2 minutes or until the chips are glossy and beginning to melt.
Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes before cutting, until the chocolate is set.
Cut into bars and store in an airtight container at room temperature for a week.
