Garlic Green Beans

  • 6 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • pinch of sugar
  • 8 ounces green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon white wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste


  • In a small bowl, stir together the garlic slices, olive oil, a pinch of sugar, and microwave for 45 seconds until the garlic has softened.
  • In a medium skillet, heat half of the garlic oil over medium heat until thoroughly heated.
  • Add the green beans, water, cover, and cook the green beans about 3 minutes or until they are bright green.
  • Add in the other half of the garlic oil, cover, and cook for another 3 minutes. Uncover the green beans and stir occasionally cooking the beans for another 3 minutes, until the garlic becomes golden.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the white wine vinegar, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately.
