Over the last two weeks life for me has been a little crazy. My son’s football season is coming to an end, my day job is ending its fiscal year, and my blog life has become extremely busy…now I am not complaining about any of this because being busy is not necessarily a bad thing. However when life gets busy and crazy that is the time to really pay close attention and practice self care as often as possible.
I know…I know…when life gets busy this is not always easy to do, but I am telling you that it will make a huge difference in your day and help you to achieve everything that is on your to do list. Seriously you cannot be at your best if you are overwhelmed and stressed out and I am guilty as well of not pouring into myself as much as I need to, but one way that I love to spend a few minutes with myself is by placing my phone on silent, pouring myself a hot beverage like some vegan hot chocolate, and sitting down for 15 to 30 minutes doing something like journaling, meditating, or just doodling allowing my mind to wander in complete freedom.

- 1 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 Tablespoon vegan chocolate chips
- 1 Tablespoon raw sugar (add more if you prefer)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Using your favorite large mug, pour in the non-dairy milk and microwave until heated, about 1 minute. Add in the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, sugar, vanilla, salt, and stir until everything comes together.
Taste and adjust to your preferred sweetness by adding more sugar if needed.
May serve topped with vegan marshmallows, shredded chocolate, or coconut whip topping.
