The answer must be chocolate is a review of food blogger, Simply LaKita’s visit to the World of Chocolate Museum in Orlando, Florida.
This week I was able to spend some time in sunny Orlando, Florida and even though I did not indulge in the fantasy of all that is Disney…I did take a trip to the World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe.
Yes…you did read that correctly…there is a whole entire museum dedicated to all things chocolate and so you know I could not resist checking it out.
This place is in a nice area that is pretty much off the beaten path and away from Disney World, but not difficult to get to at all. Upon entering the building the aroma of chocolate is the first thing that you smell as you immediately enter into the middle of a cafe which includes a long counter with lots and lots of chocolates for sale.
At this point, you may either choose to select your chocolates and choice of beverage, including wine or coffee and have a seat to enjoy the lovely atmosphere or proceed to the counter and purchase a golden ticket for the guided museum tour.
The beginning of the museum tour is introduced with a short video and personal tour guide who discusses the history of chocolate and how we came to know all about the chocolate of today. The museum displays everything associated with the chocolate process from planting (yes chocolate is a plant aka a salad) and harvest to machines and packaging.
Towards the end of the tour, you will enter into a cool LED lit room to view some wonderfully elaborate chocolate works of art.
Here are just a few…
Amazing right?? Yes, that is solid chocolate…YUM!
The tour ends with the viewing of many different molds of chocolate and my favorite part…samples of chocolate from around the world, some of which were tasty and delicious and some which were…ummm…errr….interesting.
All in all, I really enjoyed my time there and would recommend it if you ever find yourself in the Orlando area. However just as a warning after all of that chocolate tasting and enjoyment…you may find yourself exhausted from all of the chocolate that has entered your body.
Let’s just say my evening ended a bit early 😉
