These Cheesy Supreme Pizza Rolls are so so good!

A warm buttery roll with all my favorite toppings including a layer of bubbly mozzarella cheese. The rolls are topped with a delicious butter sauce that is full of flavor with a combination of Italian seasoning, garlic, and crushed red pepper.

Once the pizza rolls have finished baking, this buttery sauce browns to form a crispy layer on top that takes these rolls to another level. There is just so much delicious flavor packed into these mini sandwiches.

Now it is no secret that pizza is my favorite, so I'm always trying to come up with recipes that incorporate pizza because who doesn't want pizza every day?

This recipe is perfect for those times when you need to feed a crowd in a hurry or you just want to jazz up weeknight dinner. No matter what the occasion is, you absolutely must try this recipe.

    Ingredient Notes

ingredients to make rolls in separate containers on marble surface
    1. Dinner Rolls - The main ingredient in this pizza roll recipe. You can use any premade savory dinner rolls that you prefer as long as you grab them from the bread aisle at the grocery store. You may even use sweet rolls.
    2. Pizza Sauce - Any pizza sauce that you prefer or have on hand is fine. This will help to hold the topping together on the dinner roll.
    3. Bell Pepper - Just half of a green bell pepper is all that is needed for this recipe. This helps to give it that supreme pizza flavor.
    4. Olives - Use an ounce of sliced black olives. You can buy them in the can already sliced and ready to go, just be sure to drain them well before using.
    5. Mushrooms - Use an ounce of any kind of mushroom that you prefer. You may use fresh mushrooms or canned, either will work.
    6. Pepperoni - Regular size pepperoni slices.
    7. Mozzarella Cheese - To make the rolls cheesy and the mild flavor of mozzarella will not overpower the other flavors in this dish.
    8. Parmesan Cheese - Helps to thicken the sauce to top the rolls and give them a nice slightly salty flavor.
    9. Butter - Tops our rolls and helps to make the sauce.
    10. Olive Oil - Allows the ingredients of the sauce to blend together well. Use any that you prefer.
    11. Garlic - Mince a clove of garlic to add additional flavor to the sauce to top the rolls.
    12. Italian Seasoning and Crushed Red Pepper - Adds spice and seasoning to the sauce for the rolls.

    Instructions

Begin the recipe by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. Slice the dinner rolls in half and place the bottom part of the rolls into a 9x13-inch rectangle baking pan. Evenly spread half of the pizza sauce on the bottom half of the rolls.

Cover the sliders with aluminium foil and place them in the oven to bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Carefully remove the aluminium foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the rolls have lightly browned. Serve warm and enjoy!

    Recipe Tips

    • When making the rolls, be sure to select the savory rolls and not the sweet ones unless that is what you prefer. However, the savory rolls work best.
    • Be sure to check the rolls while baking and do not overbake them. Once they have lightly browned and the cheese is melted and bubbly, pull them from the oven.
    • If there are any toppings that you do not like, then you may omit them. You may also add other ingredients like some thinly sliced onion if you prefer.

    Storage

If you have any leftovers, then be sure to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When you are ready to serve them again, then reheat in the microwave or in the oven by wrapping them in aluminum foil and baking at 350 degrees F. for 5 to 10 minutes, until heated thoroughly.

Freezer - The cooked and completely cooled rolls may also be stored in the freezer in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag for up to 30 days. When ready to serve, brush the top with some melted butter and place into the oven at 350 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Make Ahead Option

These pizza sliders can be made a day in advance all the way up until spreading the sauce on top before baking. Assemble the sliders, cover, and store in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Then prepare the butter sauce and top and bake per the instructions.
