Enjoy Your Journey – As a blogger, you may find yourself obsessing about the numbers, but today I take a minute to look back and appreciate the present.
Can I be honest with you today?
I recently was checking out my blog stats and became a little sad that I am not where (I guess) I want to be.
Side note- If you are not a blogger, then when I say blog stats I am referring to blog numbers being readers and page views that a blog/content receives during a certain period of time. What can also be included in these “stats” is social media growth and how many likes/followers, comments, and shares that you also have within a certain period of time. All of these numbers can be pulled from multiple places.
Side note- If you are a blogger, then please tell me that I am not alone in obsessing over these numbers 🙂
Anyway just out of curiosity I decided to look back at what my stats were for the same time period one year ago and I had not only doubled all of my numbers, but I had doubled them TWICE!! This growth made me immediately appreciate where I am right now in this very moment and not stress where I think I should be. The internet allows us to receive so much information and view a snap shot into the lives of so many people that it is easy to get caught up in believing that your life is not where it should be and that is exactly what happened to me. I totally fell for it not even stopping to celebrate my own success.
When I stated this blog my only goal was to have a place to share my recipes with others and to be able to keep up with the recipes that were passed down from my grandmother, to my mother, and then on to me, knowing that those handwritten recipe cards would not last forever and that I had a better chance of passing it on to my future grandchildren (someday) if it was in a digital format. It was also easier to refer people to my blog when asked the question, “How did you make this”.
Now three years later I look and my first posts in disbelief that I ever posted those pictures, I am still in awe at the opportunities that have come as a result of blogging, and I love it when my readers and supporters reach out to me with questions or to let me know that they have tried one of my recipes. I will not obsess over the numbers and will celebrate each success with each and every one of you because I know that you could be anywhere on the internet and I am so humbled and honored that you chose to spend a little of your time with me.
So today I will take a happy journey back and share some of the most popular recipes from Simply LaKita.
Mini Peach Cobbler – I totally ruined this recipe, made a huge mess, and smoked up my house, but for some reason each and every month this is my #1 post. I have even considered deleting this post from my blog because I’m no longer married, but since you guys love it so much I could not…not share it with you today.
Chocolate Sour Cream Cake with Chocolate Ganache – This cake OOZED chocolate and was so moist and delicious and takes the place as #2 for the most popular and most clicked and shared.
Easy Chicken Pot Pie – This was not only a super easy pot pie recipe with crust on the bottom, but has also been my most pinned and re-pinned recipe on Pinterest.
Vegan Iced Oatmeal Cookies – Most popular Instagram recipe!
