Ready for the New Year?

Can you believe that 2014 is almost over? The year went by so unbelievably fast. Lately I have been reviewing what this year has looked like for me and setting my intentions for the New Year. I am really not into setting resolutions, but I do always strive to make the new year better than my last. I have a feeling that 2015 is going to be a awesome year. Nevertheless I do still take advantage of eating the traditional good luck meal of pork, peas, and a side of something green…All for good luck and every little bit helps right??


  • 3 cans (15 oz) black-eyed-peas, un-drained
  • 1.5 oz pork chops seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste


Combine the black-eye peas in the slow cooker/Crock Pot and season with salt and pepper to taste.


Place the seasoned pork chops on top of the peas.

Top pork chops with large onion slices and season with salt and pepper to taste.


Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 2 to 4 hours.

Serve over rice with a side of something green and you are all set.
