#PrayForOrlando

Yesterday began like any other Sunday.

I woke up a little later than I would normally during the week. I was able to wake up without the sound of an alarm. I began my morning routine. Let the dog outside…feed the dog…open the blinds to let some light in…head to the kitchen for coffee…take a look at my phone to check my text messages and noticed I had a text asking the question, “Have you checked on your family in Orlando?” I did not respond to the text. I went straight to my favorite news media outlet to find out exactly what had happened in Orlando, Florida.

By now I’m sure you already know what I found. You can imagine the shock and sadness that I felt after reading such news and I did check on family and friends that I have in that area to find that everyone was alright. I immediately thought about the many calls and text messages asking the same question that went unanswered. That could never be answered.

I’m not really sure why things like this happen or continue to happen regardless of sexual orientation, religion, age, or skin color, or what influences push people to make decisions such as this. I don’t think I want to know what leads people to making decisions such as this.

I have no answers to the many questions that are looming in my brain.

I reach to understand something that is not meant to be understood.pray for orlando

My heart has been breaking since I heard the news. No one can make sense of it, and everyone is feeling the pain. It’s hard to just continue on with day to day responsibilities, knowing that so many people got their lives taken from them in an instant. There really are no words.

    Thank you for this post.

There really are no words…no words to make sense of the situation anyway.

I’m certainly still reeling from it, and may always be that way.
Too much hate and violence in this world. It’s getting worse, I fear.

It’s so sad that so many people lost their lives. We certainly need better gun laws. I don’t understand why anyone NEEDS to own an assault rifle. I know people want the right to own guns, but it’s not necessary to own such a deadly device.
    I’m certainly praying for Orlando.

My prayers are with them as well. I do not really understand the need for an assault rifle either and how they are so easy to get!
