I recently found this recipe when I was spending time on Pinterest...Ahhh Pinterest! Am I the only person that is totally in love with Pinterest. I mean really what did we ever do before Pinterest.

Anywho this recipe puts a new twist on the classic rice krispie treats, so you already know that I had to give it a try. This recipe is also fairly simple with the exception of washing the pot after each layer, but let me tell you  that it is so worth it!

    For the Vanilla Layer
    3 Tablespoons butter
1 package (10 oz.) regular marshmallows
    6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

    For the Chocolate Layer
    3 Tablespoons butter
1 package (10 oz.) regular marshmallows
    6 cups Cocoa Krispies cereal

    For the Strawberry Layer
    4 Tablespoons butter
1 jar (7 oz.) Marshmallow Creme
2-3 drops of red food coloring (just enough to make pink)
    5 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Lining a metal square 9” by 13” pan with aluminum foil, use a pan that has high sides. A glass casserole dishes with rounded edges will not be able to hold all of the treat layers. Generously spray your prepared pan with cooking spray.

For the Vanilla Layer melt the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until they have melted completely. Quickly stir in the rice cereal until it is completely coated. Pour the mixture into your prepared pan. Spray a spatula with cooking spray and then firmly press the mixture into the pan. Place the pan in the refrigerator. Wash out your cooking pot and proceed to the Chocolate Layer.

When the treats have cooled completely, remove them from the pan. Place them on a cutting board. Discard the aluminum foil and cut the large rectangle into slices and then cut each large slice into smaller squares.
