It is still cold and flu season…that time of year when many people will find themselves sick and feeling horrible. When the time of sickness strikes you, the only thing that you want is some comfort and you are willing to try almost anything in order to find some relief and healing. Many of us will simply make a quick trip to the doctor in search of a prescription that will ease the burden of the symptoms; however some of us are willing to try other alternative methods before we schedule an appointment to see the doctor.
One of my favorite cold remedies that is especially good at soothing a sore throat or quieting a cough is honey and lemon. Take ½ of a lemon and slice it thinly and place it into a small jar or container with a lid and pour ¾ cup of honey over the thinly sliced lemon, place in the fridge, and chill overnight. When needed take a tablespoon or two for some relief.
Some other tips that are helpful when dealing with a cold are to get plenty of sleep because your body needs all the rest that it can get in order to fight off a cold. Sleep will help your body to restore itself and get well soon. Also drink plenty of liquids especially warm liquids because they will help to open up the nasal passage and allow you to breathe more freely. Additional liquids will also help the body to flush out any unwanted toxins and prevent dehydration.
If you find yourself sick this season the best thing to do is to listen to your body and give it exactly what it needs.
Hope this Helps…Stay Well!
