Yesterday my little fur baby turned 4 years old and I have to say that I cannot believe that it has been 4 years already.
Time has certainly flown by!
I remember when I first brought him home to be apart of my little family (which was the following February after his birth) he was so tiny, but fit right in and adjusted very quickly. I was not really a 'dog person', but my son really wanted a dog and had been asking for one forever and I finally felt as though I was at a point in my life when I was ready to take on the long term commitment of having a dog. It saddens me when people get a dog and a few years later decide that for whatever reason they no longer want the dog and get rid of it. I did not want to be THAT person...so I waited.
Anyway one day we decided to make a trip to the local shelter and pick out a pet, but strangely there were few dogs available that day for adoption (which actually is a good thing). So we headed home and on our way we noticed a breeder had a sign out stating that there were puppies available to take home and so we stopped and went in. Inside there were so many people surrounding this largely gated area that had several Yorkies...they were so cute, but being a person who suffers from allergies I had decided that a poodle would be the way to go. So a Yorkie was not what I had in mind besides that dog seemed way too fragile for my little rugged family. As we were about to leave we noticed that in the corner there was a small gated area that has a little black poodle and a small Bichon Frise and so we decided to spend some time with the little black poodle and he won our hearts and went home with us and has been with us ever since.
I always tell people that are considering a dog that I think in a way our pets choose us. We just have to be at the right place at the right time.
6 Tablespoons almond flour
1 Tablespoons honey (preferably raw)
1 whole egg plus 1 egg yolk
2 Tablespoons of coconut oil, melted
¼ cup mashed banana
2 Tablespoons of organic plain yogurt (choose one with low sugar content)
1 Tablespoons of natural peanut butter
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Use coconut oil to grease your cupcake pan or use liners.
Mix your cake ingredients until smooth and fold in the banana
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 15- 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow to completely cool.
While your pupcakes are cooling, mix together your yogurt and nut butter until smooth.
Once the pupcakes are completely cool, spread the icing onto the tops of each and serve.
Your fur baby will surely love this special treat!
