Happy Monday! Hope you're enjoying what you can of this summer and indulging in plenty of refreshing cocktails or mocktails.

Today for Margarita Monday I will be sharing a recipe for a margarita that is both spicy and delicious. It is made with jalapeno juice and a slice or two of jalapeno for garnish to make this drink the right amount of spice. To add an extra layer of flavor you may coat the rim in a layer of salt, sugar, or chili lime seasoning for a little something extra. Better yet why not use sugar and chili lime seasoning for some extreme flavor overload.

This is sure to be your new favorite margarita recipe. This particular recipe is for one individual serving, but feel free to double or triple the recipe to share with friends as you see fit.

What ingredients for this spicy margarita recipe?

Tips to make the best spicy margarita recipe:

    • Use fresh lime juice for this recipe. Three tablespoons are approximately the juice of 1 ½ small limes.
    • For the jalapeno juice and slices, use pickled jalapenos that come in a jar. You may also use the juice and fresh jalapeno slices if you prefer.
    • Rim the glass with Tajin, chili lime seasoning for an extra layer of flavor. If you prefer to use salt, use coarse sea salt or kosher salt. For a sweet yet spicy margarita, rim the glass with sugar.
    • If this margarita is too strong in terms of alcohol, adjust to your preference or allow the ice to melt a little before drinking to dilute. You may also add additional orange juice to the drink if it is still too strong.
