Today I will share with you my favorite Instagram Editing Apps and how I use them to make my Instagram feed stand out and tell my brand story.
Lately, I have been receiving great compliments, engagement, and even an increase in followers on my Instagram and I believe that is mainly due to my feed and the way that I have been editing my pics.
I recently decided to spend a little more time making my Instagram feed more cohesive so that all of the pictures look like they belong to one overall collage instead of just being random individual snaps of daily life. One way that I have been able to achieve this is by editing my pics the same way each time and thinking about how a picture will fit into the overall collage of my Instagram. This may sound like a lot of work, but really once you begin to edit your pictures the same way, I think muscle memory takes over, and you can quickly edit pictures without even thinking about it.
The theme of my Instagram is minimalist, bright, warm-toned, with the colors overly saturated to catch the eye while scrolling through the feed.
I have been able to achieve this by using the following apps:
My favorite and most go to app is Snapseed which I use for pretty much all of my pictures. Within the app, I adjust the details, tune the image, crop, and use the selective tool to adjust certain areas of the photo…especially dark spots that need brightening. More often when I am done with this app I will post it straight to Instagram unless I want to use a particular filter or the photo needs a little more work.
VSCO is very similar to Snapseed in that you can specifically edit your pictures anyway that you would like as well as add filters. But this app works well for me when I need to adjust the tint of the picture and straighten certain areas of the photo that may be a little off balance.
ABM or the A Beautiful Mess is an app that I will use only for the filter Poppy because this filter is really bright and usually if I feel that my picture is still lacking something after editing it in Snapseed, then I will also use this filter on top of the edited photo as well.
Picfx is another app that has great filters especially to add depth to a picture and I especially love using these filter for selfies and other more personal shots. My favorite filters are the ones in the PFX Film set and I especially love PFX 15 and PFX 15x…these filters make brown skin look brighter without giving it that washed out appearance.
And last, but certainly, not least I use Instagram to edit my Instagram pictures…that makes perfect sense right! In the Instagram app, my favorite filter is Ludwig, but I will also make last minute adjustments to the brightness, saturation, and warmth within this app as well.
These apps have improved my Instagram feed so much, be sure to follow me on Instagram @simplylakita, and if you have any favorite apps, filters, or tips that you use to make your feed more beautiful please share them in the comment section below as sharing is caring 😉
