My 7 Day Juice Fast Journey Day 2 is the first day of a weeklong journey in which blogger, Simply LaKita will fuel her body with nothing but fresh juice.

{Day 2} My 7 Day Juice Fast Journey

Guess what??

I lasted Day 1 of my juice fast…Whoohooo!!

I am so excited that I made it past day one and believe me it was not a simple task. I still desired food, thought about food, and even forgot on occasions that I was not supposed to be consuming food. In spite of this, I made it a full 24 hours without food.

Have I shed any weight?

Yes, I have dropped 1/2lb since yesterday. I know its most likely only water weight and I really could easily gain it right back with a couple of Krispy Kreme doughnuts (don’t that sound good right about now). But Hey it is half of a pound and I’m still pretty glad about it.

How is my body system adapting?

Well, I have tons of energy and I feel fantastic. I actually wake up, and I mean wide awake, and get up out of bed at 7:30 am. Since I work from home this is certainly something new for me because I usually do not get up out of bed until 9:30 am. I also notice that I am ready to go to bed at 10:30 pm. I get so drained that I really cannot do anything, but go to sleep.

In case you are on a juice fast it is a chance for your body to detoxify, rest, and to heal itself, so additional rest may be needed…that is normal. So what I do is accept defeat and go to sleep, but then I really cannot complain much about that due to the fact that I have sufficient energy to get maximum usage out of my day. I did have a minor headache today, which was very light and expected simply because my body is detoxing. I figure had I not prepared my body for the juice fast it would be noticeably worse.

How do I cope with the pains of hunger?

These are worse for me around my normal dinner time. I guess my body is used to dinner at a specific time and when that doesn’t take place my body begins to panic…like “What’s up with us not eating?…Where is the food?”…So when I feel hungry I drink lots of water and lots of juice.

You should not let yourself become hungry. Anytime that you feel hungry…Drink Some Juice. Your body is going through enough, so you should not allow yourself become hungry. In fact, make sure you drink your juice before you get hungry and please do not worry if you are consuming too much juice. You are depriving your body of food and that is enough, so you can’t be worried about your juice intake at this time.

It is recommended that you have juice handy and ready when you need it. I juice my entire daily amount of juice each morning, so I can just grab it throughout the day. You can juice the night before for the next day or juice when you get low throughout the day. It truly doesn’t matter.
