Ingredient Notes

- Canned California Cling Peaches - When looking for them in stores be sure to check the label for USA/California Grown to make sure you’re getting the best cling peaches available.
- Honey - Use pure honey to help sweeten the fruit leather and make it more sticky.
See the recipe card for exact quantities.
Instructions
Begin the recipe by draining the liquid off the cling peaches.

Add the drained California cling peaches to the blender along with the honey and puree until smooth.

Pour the puree mixture on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a nonstick mat. Use a spatula to spread the mixture evenly. Place the sheet pan into the food dehydrator set to medium heat and dry for 6 to 8 hours, until dry to the touch.

Carefully remove the pan from the oven. Once cool, place a piece of parchment paper on top of the fruit leather and invert the sheet pan to release the fruit leather. Cut into even strips and roll the parchment paper. Enjoy or store in an airtight container for later.

Tips and Tricks
- Drain the cling peaches - Be sure to drain all of the liquid completely off the canned cling peaches. Less liquid will help with the dehydration process.
- Dehydrator tray - Use a dehydrator tray if you have it. If not, use a sheet pan lined in parchment paper or a nonstick mat.
- Spread evenly - Try to spread the mixture as evenly as possible over the sheet pan so that it cooks/dehydrates evenly and does not burn or be cooked in some areas and not others.
- Color change - The finished fruit leather may be darker in color, this is completely normal.

Equipment
To make homemade fruit leather, you will need a blender. Any blender will work and it does not necessarily have to be a high powered expensive blender. The blender that I use and love is a Vitamix Professional Series 750.
You will also need a food dehydrator to process the fruit leather. However, my air fryer oven has a dehydrator setting to allow me to make this without the use of another appliance. If you do not have a dehydrator, then use the oven at a low temperature to get the same result.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. They do not have to be kept in the refrigerator, but if you prefer, it may extend the freshness for an additional 5 days. Keep in mind that dehydrated foods last longer in dry conditions, moisture rehydrates the fruit and will not last as long.
