Keep Breakfast simple by using California Cling Peaches to make a smoothie, savory toast, and filling strata. So simple and delicious, made in minutes to share with the whole family.

You may have heard the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I believe that is true. It is the perfect opportunity to break the fast that you’ve had all night while you were asleep. It is also a great way to begin the day with something in your stomach so that you can tackle the tasks of the day.

Basically, it is important but it does not have to be complicated and take hours to prepare. One way that I am able to achieve a quick and easy breakfast is by keeping my pantry stocked with California Cling Peaches.

    Why use California Cling Peaches?

California Cling Peaches are harvested, packed and shipped at their peak ripeness to ensure one-of-a-kind flavor and sweetness. This makes them the must-have pantry staple to keep stocked all year long. They have a long shelf life, are affordable, naturally sweet and available at most grocery stores in jars, cans, and single-serve cups. Be sure to warm up your winter with a pantry full of California Cling Peaches.

Make a piece of savory breakfast toast by mixing together ¼ cup ricotta cheese with 1 teaspoon honey until combined. Spread this on a piece of toasted bread and top with ¼ cup drained California cling peaches and a piece of prosciutto.

Lastly prepare a tasty breakfast strata by gathering the following ingredients:

    1. Bread, cut into 1” cube pieces
    2. Olive oil
    3. Ground sausage
    4. Onion
    5. Diced California Cling Peaches
    6. Milk
    7. Eggs
    8. Cheese
    9. Salt and ground black pepper

How to make a Breakfast Strata:

Begin the recipe by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. and grab a square 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Lightly spray with cooking spray and add the bread cubes in an even layer on the bottom. Set aside.

In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground sausage. Use a wooden spoon to break up the sausage as it cooks. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes until it has completely browned. Remove the skillet from the heat and drain off the fat and remove the sausage and place in the baking dish evenly on top of the bread.

Using the same skillet add the olive oil and heat thoroughly before adding the chopped onion. Cook, stirring frequently until the onion has softened and is translucent for about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the diced cling peaches and stir until warm. Remove from the heat and add to the baking dish over the sausage in an even layer.

Top evenly with the cheese. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt and ground black pepper until smooth. Slowly pour over the bread mixture and press down to make sure the bread is well coated.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it into the oven to bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Carefully remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
